To New Mexico and Back Again

You'all are either not checkin my blog anymore or wondering WT to the F is John doin'! Well I'll show you and maybe sometime on the weekend fill you in with words. First over the river...
And through the woods...To Grandma house we go for Christmas. Then to Mad-town to chill with Nora...
Then to Lil' Sis' Place for New Years...Then 26 hours of driving to New Mexico for Field Camp...The Lodge we stayed at...First assignment do a strat section up 1000+ ft Dave and Andy...Me on top of the world...Next assignment map the mountains...
Me all dud'ed up...After 8 hours in the field a beer at the Middle of Nowhere Bar feels real good...Day off and a tour at the Chino Mine--my future employer. Those little specs at the bottom of the pit are trucks the size of a three story building....Second mapping exercise...
Third mapping exercise didn't have that spectacular of view, but was hard. Unexpected visit from my bro and Ethan on their way to California and some unexpected snow...
Busted out of New Mexico a day earlier otherwise we'd still be there. Sunrise over Iowa on our 24 hour drive of which 20 hours I was co-piloting...Starting to get something together for training. Classes in session, TA'ing Sed Strat, applying for internships, thinking about the future.
